Funded NQ trader — a year ago I was laying bricks with no plan B. Started Higo Trades to help the next wave skip the gambling phase I lived through. Lifetime payout cert coming soon.
I'm Higo. I trade NQ futures full time on funded accounts. But a year ago I wasn't a trader at all — I was a bricklayer who gambled away every eval he could afford. This is the whole story, start to finish.
I never applied for college. I left high school with one plan: learn a trade and make an honest living. That was the whole goal — no grand vision, no backup, just work with my hands and get paid for it.
To chase my bricklaying certification. The plan was simple — earn the trade overseas, bring it back to New York, and build a life off it. That was the entire reason I went.
Then Ireland got hold of me. I was out drinking and partying every single weekend, and somewhere in there I stopped caring about going home. Carrying that cert back to New York quietly fell off the table. I'd settled — living for the weekend, week after week, telling myself it was fine.
Eventually I caught myself. I knew that lifestyle was a dead end, so I made the call to walk away from it and start thinking bigger — maybe my own construction company back in New York down the line. For the first time in a while, I had a direction again.
Back on the tools, one of my old Discord friends put trading in front of me. I bought my first funded account, started watching how the money actually moved — and realized you could make a full month's wage in a single morning. (I'd learn later that's barely the floor. There's far more on the table than I knew back then.) That was it. I was hooked.
I locked in. Minimum six hours a day, every single day — charts, market structure, why price does what it does. Whatever it took to actually understand this thing, I put the time in.
Problem is, trying to learn and trade live at the same time is the fastest way to blow up. I started on Topstep — looking back, the worst place to start, because the sim felt like a video game and that's exactly how I treated it. I gambled accounts left, right, and center.
My very first account was a $49 Topstep $50K eval. I gambled my way to a pass in two days. First day of Express Funded I racked up $3,600 and felt untouchable. The next day? Account blown. No payout. Zero.
That became the loop — buy an eval, pass it fast, blow the funded, buy another. Over and over, for months. I got down so deep I was ready to walk away from the whole thing.
Then a real payout finally landed. That one hit of green gave me hope — proof it could actually work. But it faded fast, because I hadn't fixed anything underneath. I was right back where I started: trapped in eval jail, recycling accounts I couldn't hold onto.
What finally flipped it wasn't a mentor or a magic setup. I broke my foot. Out of work, no money coming in, and trading was suddenly the only card left in my hand. I had no choice but to make it work.
So I stopped gambling and built real rules — and this time I actually followed them. That's where the consistency came from. The stats above this section — May $30K+ requested in payouts, $32K+ in net P&L — that's not luck. That's what happens when you get backed into a corner and finally decide to trade like it matters.
I started this for the trader I was a year ago. The one gambling accounts. The one dying to make it out but stuck in the spiral. The one who feels like every guru is selling something, but nobody's actually teaching them how to not blow their next account.
I lived every part of it — the bricks, the weekends I threw away, the spiral, the corner I had to climb out of. I know exactly how it feels. I'm here to help. That's it.
